Sports for Schools

sports for schools brings gb/olympic athletes into primary schools to encourage children to take up more sport and lead a healthy life. in the process we support those athletes, for many of whom sports for schools is their main source of income while also raising money for sports equipment for those schools. our social mission is to raise the physical and mental health of children. at a national level, we aim to reframe the education debate by putting physical health on a par with mental health and academic achievement. sports for schools runs inspiring fitness events at over 1300 primary schools a year across the uk, currently reaching around 300,000 children. these events engage children in fun-based physical exercises led by a ‘sportivater’ and an athlete who motivate the children through a fitness circuit. after all the children have been put through their paces, they gather for an inspiring and motivational assembly led by the athlete. through their commitment and effort in the pu
