all volunteer fire department serving the residents of the borough of spotswood, a suburban community of 8,200 people with a service area comprising of 2.4 square miles in middlesex county, new jersey. founded in 1898, we operate three engines, a brush truck, two utility trucks, and two command vehicles out of two firehouses running approximately 200 calls per year. the operations we conduct are: fire suppression, rescue, motor vehicle extrication, service calls, assistance with ems, assistance with fire prevention bureau, and mutual aid operations. additionally the members of the spotswood volunteer fire department also are members of the spotswood enterprise hook & ladder company, inc. an independent support organization to the fire department that is a recognized 501(c)(3) charity.
