sp process development ab (sppd) is a research institute, founded in 2013, that performs research and development in the areas of sustainable chemical process and pharmaceutical development. the role of sppd as an industry research institute is to be a neutral and unbiased innovation partner, providing both interdisciplinary expertise and experimental infrastructure to its partners in order to facilitate transforming ideas to innovations. the majority of the current personnel have a background from the astrazeneca pharmaceutical r&d unit with profound experience of drug substance and drug product development through the clinical program to launch. our business is fee-for-service commercial r&d for industrial partners and grant-financed research. we have thorough experience from eu-projects and other collaborations between industry, academia and institutes. the sppd institute is part of the sp group and a subsidiary of sp technical research institute of sweden, rise.
