Spptheatreco

spptheatreco was established in 1954 as st paul's players. we are a well-respected amateur company, and a strong and vibrant member of the theatre community in bristol. in the last few years we have performed successfully at the tobacco factory's brewery theatre, the olympus theatre, backwell playhouse and the alma tavern. we don't have a specific 'style' or genre - recent productions include arthur millers 'the crucible', chris o'connell's 'hang lenny pope', and peter whelan's historical drama 'accrington pals' . in 2012 we are performing 'dragons' an original play based on 'king lear' as part of the rsc open stages festival, at the bierkellar in bristol and at the rsc's outdoor theatre in stratford on avon - the dell. we will also be taking part in a showcase at the sherman theatre in cardiff. in the autumn, we will be performing david hare's 'murmuring judges', and we run various fundraising events throughout the year. new members are always welcome - we do not audition members
