Spring Fling Regatta for the International Cruise Industry

the spring fling regatta for the international cruise industry is held annually the day before the seatrade cruise global conference & tradeshow in south florida. the regatta is held in appreciation of the grand nautical traditions of mariners from all over the world. racing in sailboats is the oldest and purest form of friendly competition among those who live and work on the sea. each sailor provides a small donation of $20 which goes to support youth sailing through the lyc sailing foundation. the costs of the event are supported by the event sponsors. the racing is match racing format in two person 420 dinghies with double elimination ladders. staging is onshore at the lauderdale yacht club in fort lauderdale, florida with crew swaps off a floating dock. six 420 sailboats race in three sets of two with three minute rolling starts. the racing includes rounds for both the most serious racers and for "newby"​ or casual-fun racers. this event is open by invitation to members of the int
