Squid vs. Whale: A Record Company

founded in 2001 as a hobby and incorporated as an llc in 2003, squid vs whale began as a venture between 3 friends to release and distribute vinyl lp format recordings for musicians with whom we had estabilished personal relationships. eventually the company began working with artists whose work we admired, and then we stopped working at all, as all of the founders moved to new cities and set up new lives. the company reopened in 2010 to release "the illustrated garden" on vinyl lp for los angeles band radar brothers (merge records).
