Sri Somesvara Temple

sri somesvara is a vedic shiva temple located in the blue ridge mountains of north carolina, near asheville. it incorporates 100% vastu temple architecture and employs vedic technology in all ceremonies. artisans hand-carved 46 tons of granite from india to create the deities, shrines, and entryway, making it an authentic vedic temple. vedic guidelines are strictly followed in order to maintain the purity of the deities and pandit. ceremonies are performed in a way that encourages an inward focus. it was designed by sthapati s. santhanakrishnan, a student of dr. v. ganapati sthapati and was finished by shilpi craftsmen. sri somesvara temple was consecrated in 2011. sri somesvara is the first of five temples to be built at mount soma, a community that is being developed by michael mamas and built according to the guidelines found in the vaastu shastra texts for an enlightened city. this enlightened city will help bring peace and harmony to the planet by integrating ancient spiritual wis
