we have developed a detailed and user friendly linear programming software "nutrioptimizer" to support nutrition improvement. it is a software tool based on linear programming analysis, a mathematical optimization process that demonstrate how nutrient-based recommendations can be translated into nutritionally adequate food intake pattern with nutritional modification of current or proposed choices of food. in finding a suitable diet for a particular individual, there can be many combinations of foods which could satisfy the given nutrient requirement. after selecting the foods according to their individual preferences, the optimization program is run. from the chosen foods, the required foods are selected with serving sizes by the optimization program so that they meet the nutrition requirement in total. for example the chosen foods are having around 3000-4000 calories, but our requirement is only 2100 calories our optimization software will select the best food satisfying the calorie
