Sonoma State Center for Environmental Inquiry

sonoma state university’s center for environmental inquiry is a public-private endeavor that provides research and training to advance careers, technology and innovation at ssu’s three preserves totaling 4,200 acres (galbreath wildlands preserve in mendocino county, fairfield osborn preserve in penngrove, and los guillicos preserve the valley of the moon). the center is part of ssu’s effort to make environmental understanding integral to a university education, regardless of major. it provides lands, facilities, databases, and programs that inspire participation, collaboration, and innovation in education and research. preserve lands and facilities are available for use by all persons engaged in investigation and learning in the arts and sciences. the center's preserves are owned and managed by sonoma state university and administered by the school of science and technology as a campus-wide resource. our staff includes a director, reservation manager and education coordinator, and ssu
