St. Francis Dam National Memorial Foundation

the st. francis dam national memorial foundation is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to the goal of raising the money needed to build and maintain a visitor's center and memorial wall at the st. francis dam disaster national memorial and national monument. the national memorial and monument were created by an act of congress on march, 12, 2019 and are administered by the united states forest service. they are located in san francisquito canyon, just north of santa clarita, california. the site of the memorial contains the remains of the st. francis dam which tragically ruptured on the evening of march 12, 1928 resulting in the deaths of over 400 people. it remains the 2nd greatest disaster in california history.
