our program is a new solution to an old problem faced by individuals and their caregivers in the metropolitan st. louis area. st. louis help receives new and used hme (home medical equipment) donations from individuals and businesses. our organization refurbishes and cleans the equipment and then loans the equipment, at no cost or fee, to community members, both young and old, from all walks of life. the uninsured, underinsured, disabled, elderly, and their caregivers (an often overlooked group) are at particular risk of facing barriers to accessing hme. the above-mentioned vulnerable populations continue to experience reduced access to health care services, demonstrating a continuing need for a viable and robust safety net such as st. louis help.
