St Tammany Recreation District 16

st. tammany recreation district no. 16 (rd16) was formed in april 2009 by the st. tammany parish council through ordinance c.s. no. 09-2055. it is comprised of wards 8 and 9 and currently excludes the incorporated areas of the city of slidell, as it existed in may of 2009. the board consists of seven members, with terms being concurrent with the parish council. six of the board members are appointed by the parish council and one member is appointed by the parish president. the current terms of the rd16 board members expire in december 2015. the vision of this board is to provide world-class recreation facilities and programming in eastern st. tammany parish that will enhance the quality of life for our citizens and will be an economic development engine in our community. our mission is to work as facilitators to engage the community to understand their recreational needs and to develop a plan to address those needs, with the assistance of professional park and recreation consultants, a
