St Wilfrid's Hospice
st wilfrid’s hospice is a local charity providing skilled and compassionate care and treatment for all patients with complex needs as they near the end of life. hospice care aims to improve the lives of people whose illness is no longer curable. it helps people to live as actively as possible after diagnosis to the end of their lives, however long that may be. the highest value is put on respect and choice. we provide skilled and compassionate care for anyone over the age of 18 with an illness beyond the point of cure, such as cancer, neurological disease or organ failure. we recently moved into a new £11m hospice building with 20 bedrooms and additional facilities to extend our wellbeing services, such as a gym and community bathroom. we also have a café situated in the heart of the hospice that is open to everyone in the community. we regularly hold art and music events to attract members of our community into the hospice so that people can see that a hospice is about helping people
