saint bernard abbey and preparatory school, established in 1891, in cullman, al, has always been in the business of education . . . from a college, seminary, junior college, and a grade school in the early years, to a college-prep middle and high school for the last 28 years. we are most famous for our beloved ave maria grotto (one of alabama's top ten tourist sites), but also have a retreat center, and of course, the school. the school caters to both local and boarding co-ed students, including a small percentage of international students. our claim to fame is our fantastic curriculum which has enabled us to have 100% graduation rate, act scores that consistently surpass the national and state averages, and about $3-5 million in scholarship offers to prestigious universities to our senior classes (usually around 25 students) every year. we have small classes (a 8:1 student/teacher ratio) and offer a surprisingly vast number of extracurricular activities and sports for a campus of unde
