sma was formed in 2007 by ron st. john and hank mittelhauser. ron and hank have worked together for 24 years providing environmental consulting, investigation and remediation services to private industry. the company has attracted many senior managers who average over 20 years in the environmental field, most of which were spent working with ron and hank. currently sma employs 30 plus geologists, engineers, scientists, field staff and support staff in their downers grove, il, hartford, il, rockford, il, indianapolis, in, and kalamazoo, mi offices. the company has grown in sales from $0.3m in 2007 to $5.9 m in 2012, essentially all of which is derived from environmental consulting, investigations, and remediation.
