it is our mission, here at stal emrys, to breed, raise and train welsh cob horses with good bloodlines. we wish to promote this exceptional breed as a performance horse suitable for all disciplines. one of the great joys for us at the stud is to witness the birth of a new welsh cob into the world. from day one we "imprint" the foals by handling their legs and feet, stroking them gently all over their bodies and even putting a halter on and off to get them used to these motions. we feel that it is very important to carry out these practices to enable the foal to be stress free as possible. good manners are taught throughout our horses lives with even our youngest cob able to be lead by the halter, stand for the farrier and stand perfectly for grooming. by the end of the first year our foals will have been trailered, shown at halter and are well socialized. depending upon maturity, round pen and lunging will start between 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years of age. we start "bitting" our welsh cobs at
