years of planning has lead to an integrated solution that cannot easily be replicated because of the complex negotiations to set up the joint venture called standby transport. the only way to resolve such a complex problem was to integrate services, tools and the expertise in each discipline required to deliver the solution. the joint venture was concluded between three successful companies with all the credentials, experience and expertise to participate in the project. these companies are: the elwierda group (a well-established company with a fleet of luxury and semi-luxury buses and a national support footprint to deliver on the integrated road transport network), star air (a company with the necessary operating licences and leasing capabilities to deliver on rural commuter transport and cargo flights) and lastly a company with a smart card and payment system to integrate private and public cashless transport payments and other transactions on the same card. the sum of the parts and
