hi, i’m kristin werner, creator, and president of star performance academy. i started this community (a.k.a. the star fam) in 2005, with a desire to create a premium arts hub for families of waterloo region. as a child, i spent hours in the car with my family driving from lesson to lesson, and so i thought to myself, “why not have it all in one place?” something for boys, girls, parents, and friends, whether it’s dance, music or acting they wish to explore, with less time in the car, or bus there is more time for the family! it’s my belief that everyone is a star, and i seek to give our students many different avenues to discover what that means to them, and how they can shine bright every day! and while we are learning this artistic language of the soul, we can’t forget to have fun along the way! that’s why we love to say… it’s fun to be a star!
