starr regional medical center is a two-campus, medical center in athens and etowah. the two-campus system allows srmc to offer more services and share resources furthering the mission of making communities healthier. starr regional is affiliated with lifepoint health the two campuses, located only 10 miles apart, began operating as part of a common system in june 2012 and formed srmc in december 2013. accredited by the joint commission, srmc provids a comprehensive array of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. starr regional health and rehabilitation is an 88-bed, nursing home for skilled and intermediate patient care on the etowah campus. srmc offers some advanced imaging options including x-ray, ct, mri, ultrasound, digital mammography, bone densitometry, and pet/ct. the senior care unit in etowah is an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit for seniors with behavioral and mental challenges. the advanced wound care and hyperbarics treats patients with acute or chronic wounds th
