die start-stiftung fördert seit 15 jahren die integration von jugendlichen migranten und zuwanderern mit bildungsstipendien. zum stipendienprogramm gehören seminare und workshops zur berufsvorbereitung, stärkung der persönlichkeit sowie gesellschaftlichen themen. der fokus liegt darauf, jugendlichen mit migrationsgeschichte den schulalltag zu erleichtern und schlüsselkompetenzen zu vermitteln. die jugendlichen schärfen ihre fähigkeiten und entwickelten miteinander ein starkes netzwerk. das 2002 von der gemeinnützigen hertie-stiftung in hessen begonnene start-schülerstipendienprogramm wird heute insgesamt in 14 bundesländern angeboten. seit 2007 führt die start-stiftung ggmbh als tochtergesellschaft der hertie-stiftung das programm durch. beteiligt sind außerdem über 120 partner – ministerien, stiftungen, kommunen, unternehmen, service clubs und vereine sowie privatpersonen.
