Startoon

startoon is an initiative designed to connect animators to producers to create the next great cartoon superstar for kids age 6-11, and backed by the shaw rocket fund. there are two sides to the project: startoon and startoon creators. startoon creators is designed as a 4 round challenge for animators to workshop their best cartoon character. the winning animator will be given a $25,000 budget to further develop their character for a series pilot. startoon creators also provides free resources from top industry professionals and connects producers and creators across canada. startoon is a live action webseries for kids hosted by francisco, an unruly dog (puppet) and his coworker kim. each week francisco and kim release silly videos and highlight animators' challenge submissions. the kids themselvesare encouraged to vote for what the character they like best! voting takes place at www.startoon.ca if you think you’re sitting on something cool, go sign up at our brand new startoon creator
