starts with me is a company of ‘peers’ leading a post-institutional mental health care movement. we create platforms to support gaps in education and services along with empowering families and individuals to increase their capacity for well-being. our programming helps youth be heard by creating creative expressions of mental health & wellbeing. supporting the development of self-expression by empowering them with self-care practices that create resilience, self-awareness, and self-compassion. we do presentations, talks, host monthly events, and hold the annual 'state of mind'​ youth mental health & system innovation festival to create connection and conversation. the state of mind festival communicates the youth voice to parents, teachers, service providers, youth organizations, and policy makers to improve the ethos of the mental health care system. we believe social enterprise is the most powerful way to bring about a paradigm shift in how we as a society view and support mental he
