hi, i’m mark macleod. since 1999, i have been leading finance and operations for angel and vc-backed startups in software, communications and the web. over the years, i have worked with some great startups, entrepreneurs and investors, and have gained exposure to many aspects of company-building from running alliances to corporate development, support, operations and everything in between. my work is focused on the following areas: funding: i get startups investor-ready and help run the fundraising process including prospecting, deal negotiation, legal and closing. growth: either as cfo or advisor, i stay involved to help startups accelerate their growth. i focus on runway management, key metrics, performance and other issues. because i work with so many companies and because of my focus on software and the web, i bring metrics, comparables and lessons learned from all that experience to my startups. back office: the startupcfo team runs the back office for several startups. from accou
