columbus was built by maverick explorers and ingenuous innovators. our founders even named our city for the enterprising and calculated, risk-taking captain that ushered in a new world of discovery, commerce and trade. it is startup columbus’ goal to reignite (and fan) the flames of risk-taking entrepreneurship that led to the creation of some of the greatest american leaders, inventors, brands – and subsequent wealth – in the world. columbus has launched some pretty amazing startups: aflac, charbroil, coca-cola, creativesouth, delta data, the fun academy (with the soon to be hit trilogy of animated features of the adventures of sgt. stubby), ft. benning, masterbuilt, omegafi, pratt & whitney, real-tree, salt life, synovus, tsys and the w.c. bradley company – to name a few, all of which call columbus home. this summer, in partnership with columbus state university, startup columbus will unveil a highly visible “welcome center” for creativity and entrepreneurship, with all of th
