the mission of startuptown (su) is to advance the revitalization of the uptown neighborhood by supporting inclusive entrepreneurial activity as a catalyst for redevelopment. su attracts a youthful population to live-work and cowork from the tech, social, maker and arts communities to create a dynamic entrepreneurial district. come build with us! startuptown was pittsburgh’s first coworking space in 2007 and home to the regions first maker space, hackpittsburgh, by 2008. from this work with startup companies and entrepreneurs, to hack’s work with code, robotics, arts and others, learning to make and understanding how things work — su captures creative energy as a way to revitalize the uptown community.
