State Research Institute of Physiology & Basic Medicine

the institute was founded in 1967. it comprises 14 laboratories and clinic of psychosomatic disorders. the main research areas are: * r&d; of new technological approaches aimed at increasing stamina and indurance under extreme conditions in man; * newely developped methods for risk assessement, diagnostics, prevention and threatment methods of the socially significant diseases; * study of integrative cerebral activity of normal and pathological brain; * mastering and development of new diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation technologies for child diseases; * r&d; of new non-pharmacological treatments (i.e., brain modulation, self-regulation) for psychosomatic medicine; * r&d; for prevention and treatment of a jet-lag syndrom and winter depression. the institute employs more than 200 people, 100 of them are researchers including 24 doctors of sciences (among them 3 academicians and 10 professors) and 37 phd's (candidates of science).
