Staten Island Basketball League

craig raucher runs the well know staten island basketball league at ps 8. it is the longest-running continuous group at one location in the history of the new york city school system. the group is composed of many former colleges, high school, and hard-nosed playground basketball players. it was formed because many players were seeking an indoor venue to play year-round and also did not like playground basketball politics. the ages of the players run from 25 to 65 and the league is not run in a traditional way. during each three-hour session, most players have played eight games. it's a good workout and a highly competitive experience. $10 will be collected at the door and allows you to play a full day of basketball.
