Steer for Student Athletes

through athletic participation, steer provides funding and services for at-risk youths to achieve better personal development and educational outcomes. the core premise is that by removing obstacles to participation and promoting positive experiences participants will develop and improve successful character traits. the development of these character traits will lead to better personal, family and community outcomes. steer provides support services, including social, academic and athletic assistance to individual student-athletes to graduate high school, prepare for further education and/or, entry into the workforce. the organization achieves these objectives by employing steer advisors who are responsible for tracking and obtaining support for the needs of the selected at-risk student-athletes.
