stephen newsom functions as a sole practitioner combining architectural practice with cdm co-ordinator services, project management and conservation consultancy. as such he has maintained full responsibility, control and implementation of all project and business-related activities. through his wide range of contacts within architectural practice and other related disciplines he now also provides specialist conservation consultancy to design teams working on larger and complex projects. stephen has acted as consultant historic buildings advisor to the edinburgh world heritage trust and to the scottish lime centre, and is currently advising fife council on the operation of a conservation repair grants programme in dunfermline. through experience stephen has acquired specialist knowledge of the conservation of non-building structures, such as masonry bridges and lime kilns, as well as the careful repair of masonry ruins and scheduled ancient monuments. stephen has considerable experience
