Step-Uhp Career Training & Coaching

step-uhp is a career coaching program for students seeking economically viable healthcare exposure and direct mentoring by role models committed to closing opportunity gaps that force disadvantaged students out of health career paths. we offer career exploration programs that are academically, socioeconomically, and professionally rewarding. many students from low-income, first-generation, and/or underrepresented backgrounds aspire to pursue careers in healthcare, but data from the american association medical colleges (aamc) show that existing outreach and recruitment efforts have not resolved critical bottlenecks, which disproportionately force less-privileged students to abandon their aspirations. we recruit and train pre-health students into paid internships (e.g. medical scribes) with direct, customized coaching on school applications and career opportunities.
