sterilize shark was formed to help protect people from the harmful bacteria and viruses which standard cleaning methods do not accomplish. anything from black mold to fungus, all strains of influenza's and now covid19, need to be disinfected in order to be killed. this means using a health canada approved disinfectant and using it properly. many times a disinfectant is sprayed from a bottle and then wiped with a cloth moments after. though this method (sanitizing) can minimize bacteria, it does not remove viruses and can often spread the germs around, transferring them off the cloth onto other surfaces being wiped. in order for a disinfectant to do its job, the guidelines on the label must be followed. all disinfectant has a associated time in which it must remain wet on the surface you are sterilizing, for it to fully kill bacteria and viruses. this is called active kill time or contact time. most will have a minimum of two minutes upwards to ten minutes depending on the disinfect
