de steungroep avd-togo is ontstaan vanuit een initiatief van een aantal vrijwilligers die betrokken waren bij de association de volontaires pour le développement de togo, kortweg avd-togo. avd-togo bestaat uit vrijwilligers in togo die zich inzetten voor projecten in dorpen en steden, gericht op achtergestelde groepen. daarbij wordt altijd nauw samengewerkt met lokale groepen van bewoners, vrouwen, boeren enz. het gaat erom dat mensen zelf hun ontwikkeling ter hand nemen. de steungroep avd togo is een vrijwillegersorganisatie in nederland, die met name financiele steun verleend aan avd togo, door het benaderen van fondsen en particulieren. daarbij zal met nadruk worden gestreefd om in nederland een bewustwording op gang te brengen over de situatie in togo. daarbij hanteren ook wij het devies van avd-togo: 'grote dingen doen met weinig middelen'
