after decades of coaching in south florida we began to notice a disturbing trend, young athletes were retiring early because their parents couldn’t keep up with rising fees. we couldn’t sit and watch talented players give up because of fees. through our basketball training program, next step training, we began taking on athletes and covering the cost of their enrollment. we would also offer these athletes mentorship and other guidance. within weeks we began to notice a change, not only in the performance of these athletes, but their behavior too. we decided to create the steve anderson foundation after seeing the positive changes that happen when student athletes are supported.
