the focus of my coaching is helping clients move from being average to great. despite all the books, courses, models, and practical experiences most people encounter in their careers, they are often missing something important: a broad perspective on the range of behaviours that are required to be truly great at what you do. research consistently finds that your attitude is a better predictor of success than iq. having the right attitude manifests itself in your behaviour, and it starts with your mindset. mindset is a term often used in business and refers to a person’s mental toughness. it’s a personality trait that determines your ability to perform consistently under stress and pressure, and is closely related to qualities such as character, resilience, grit and perseverance. mental toughness isn’t about being macho or uncaring or self-centred – it is about being tough in the sense of not giving up and being confident that you can prevail, even if the odds are stacked against you. m
