stichting biomassa bestaat uit acht participanten: dorset group, nijhuis technology, wilba techniek, forfarmers hendrix, waterstromen,groot zevert, lto noord en cah vilentum. in 2012 is de stichting opgericht met als doel, innovaties en ontwikkelingen op gebied van biomassaverwerking te stimuleren. met name de mestproblematiek in de agrarische sector is een belangrijk thema. de bedrijven zijn van mening dat studenten een waardevolle bijdrage kunnen leveren, als het gaat om onderzoeken en innovaties rondom dit actuele onderwerp. daarom hebben de bedrijven (een jaar na de oprichting van de stichting) het initiatief genomen om een innovatiehub op te richten. via de innovatiehub van stichting biomassa werken verschillende studenten aan een stage- of afstudeeropdracht. de studenten werken op de locatie van het (afstudeer)stagebiedende bedrijf. de studenten worden door een bedrijfsbegeleider inhoudelijk begeleidt. daarnaast worden de studenten procesmatig ondersteund door de coördinator van
