stichting foras! is een jonge ambitieuze non-profit organisatie die haar roots heeft in diverse grote andere organisaties. zo waren bestuursleden van foras mede organisator van de unieke herdenkings estafette van utah beach (normandie) naar het stein (688 kilometer) en de 1e marathon ter wereld gehouden in een dierentuin, welke plaats vond in gaiazoo te kerkrade 2011. foras! heeft als doel gesteld het promoten en bevorderen van zowel groot- als kleinschalige sport & cultuurevenementen of deze te organiseren. middels deze evenementen wil foras! draagvlak creëren om ook mensen met een beperking of handicap meer mogelijkheden te bieden tot het actief en passief beleven van sport & cultuur. zo is de hivernal / wintertrail gekoppeld aan het dutch mountain film festival in heerlen.
