stichting luz alba is a dutch charity supporting the luz alba orphanage (casa hogar luz alba) in arequipa, peru. in the orphanage live 15-20 children in the ages of 0-12 years. the casa hogar receives children from the government. however, they receive no funding from the government and rely solely on donations which are used to provide food, clothes, education, and medical assistance. the casa hogar is a safe place for the children to live, however, the intention is that the children are only there for a transitory period until they are either able to go back to their parents or other members of their family, or be placed with an adoptive family. the mission of the casa hogar is to improve and enrich the lives of children who have been negatively affected by social exclusion and who have not been given the basic types of attention that they need, such as; love, care, security, food, education and health. all of the children have either experienced moral and material abandonment or wer
