de stichting sailing kids is een unieke stichting in nederland, die voor jongeren en gezinnen met een ernstig of chronisch ziek kind meermaals per jaar gratis zeilvakanties organiseert op het ijsselmeer of het wad. daarbij zijn lotgenoten contact en het uitwisselen van ervaringen tussen de ouders en kinderen zeer waardevol. de vrijheid aan boord van het schip en de frisse wind in de haren zijn hier de middelen om nieuwe kracht en energie op te doen. het kloppend hart van onze organisatie wordt gevormd door meer dan 150 vrijwilligers, zonder wie de stichting niet zou kunnen bestaan. de professionele medische teams die bij elke tocht meegaan worden samengesteld uit artsen en kinderverpleegkundigen die ook als vrijwilliger meegaan. speciaal voor onze vrijwilligers organiseren we kennismakingen weekenden waarbij ook altijd een zeiltocht is inbegrepen. dit jaar hebben wij ook meegedaan aan de koningsvaart samen met onze vrijwilligers.
