sinds mei 2015 zijn wij met een team van jong professionals en docenten “stichting slaag altijd” begonnen. met deze stichting willen wij ons inzetten voor jongeren en momenteel zijn wij actief in amsterdam nieuw-west. wij zijn dit initiatief oorspronkelijk begonnen om de schooluitval tegen te gaan in amsterdam nieuw-west. maar wij zijn al snel tegen het ware probleem opgelopen. een grote groep jongeren vindt geen aansluiting in onze maatschappij en vallen zo al heel vroeg buiten de boot. daarnaast is het opleidingsniveau in nieuw-west gemiddeld veel lager dan de rest van amsterdam. wat wij al snel opmerkte is dat de instelling of ook wel de ‘mindset’ van jongeren in nieuw-west heel onzeker is. de jongeren weten heel vaak niet welke kansen onze maatschappij hun aanbiedt. verder geloven zij niet in hun eigen kunnen en doen, de jongeren missen de motivatie om te werken aan hun toekomst. zij hebben weinig tot geen rolmodellen in de buurt wat een logisch gevolg is van de lage participatie c
