in de regio haaglanden en het westland was herenturnen op hoger niveau (derde divisie en hoger) voor 2004 niet mogelijk. om herenturnen naar een hoger plan te trekken, is door danny van boxtel (hoofdtrainer/coach), in nauw overleg en ondersteund door de turnverenigingen cgv die haghe en dos monster, op 6 december 2004 de stichting topturnen haaglanden & westland (sthw) opgericht. door deze samenwerking werd het voor deze verenigingen mogelijk een groot aantal trainingsuren voor een jongensselectie op hoog niveau voor z’n leden aan te kunnen (blijven) bieden. inmiddels is de samenwerking uitgebreid met gymnastiekvereniging devona wateringen, nto maasland, gv maassluis, dos naaldwijk, udi westland, cgv scheveningen, neptunes scheveningen, donar den haag, pro patria zoetermeer.
