Stichting Fitkids
stichting fitkids heeft een geprotocolleerd fitness- en oefenprogramma ontwikkeld voor kinderen met een chronische ziekte, beperking of langdurige aandoening. het programma is in 2003 opgezet door stichting artsen voor kinderen in amsterdam. in fitkids leren kinderen weer plezier in bewegen te krijgen. daarnaast hebben onze wetenschappelijke onderzoeken aangetoond dat zowel de fysieke als de mentale conditie in 6 tot 12 maanden aanzienlijk verbeterd. er wordt getraind in groepjes van 6 tot 10 kinderen onder professionele begeleiding van een (kinder)fysiotherapeut. het uiteindelijke doel is om het kind door te laten stromen naar een sport of (sport vervangende) activiteit. inmiddels zijn er ongeveer 170 fitkidscentra actief verspreid over heel nederland, waar ruim 4500 kinderen per jaar trainen.
