the foundation - spuren - gunter demnig preserves the ideas and life's work of the artist gunter demnig. the “stolpersteine” project in particular should be the focus. its focus is to keep the memory of the victims of national socialism alive around the world by integrating brass memorial plaques into the pavement of the sidewalk at the same level in front of their last self-chosen place of residence or other places to be determined. these memorial stones remind of the fate of the people who were persecuted, murdered, deported, expelled or driven to suicide during the time of national socialism. one focus is the involvement of children and young people in the project in order to make the culture of remembrance vivid and to put it into practice. the stolpersteine document the life stories of the people who were persecuted under national socialism. the inscriptions are researched and checked together with local initiatives and the relevant archives. after the transfer, the biographies a
