stocking savvy began as a very large thick yellow binder of ideas. scrabbled together from years of working in marine labs, pet stores, and finally as a wetlands biologist the ideas began to take shape into a project. working out in the field i noticed something amidst the development of florida’s wetlands. when a pond, lake, or canal was dug we often didn’t put anything in it. no plants, no fish, no turtles, no invertebrates, nothing really just assumed things would wonder in. sometimes we’d put in mosquitofish or bream but these ponds like all the others often had huge problems if they weren’t adequately connected to other natural wetlands. stocking savvy uses only natives species for it’s pond stocking or university of florida approved biocontrol agents for wetlands. we are habitat restoration, midge fly reduction, and algae control all in one. by stocking appropriately and planting carefully one can mitigate or even prevent problems before they arise. improving the environment rath
