delta sigma theta sorority, inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. the stone mountain-lithonia alumnae chapter (sm-lac) of delta sigma theta sorority, incorporated, was chartered on march 9, 1997 in downtown stone mountain, georgia. seventy-eight sorors answered the call to establish the 910th chapter in the sorority. sm-lac has since grown to include over 700 sorors working diligently to develop activities that will enrich the community by providing scholarships and a myriad of programs geared to address the concerns of the community. sm-lac’s service area encompasses communities in barrow, dekalb, gwinnett, newton, rockdale and walton counties. sm-lac seeks to expand our current program offerings to embrace new national initiatives that will focus on the physical, economic, and educational empowerment of the community. the support of the community is critical
