strait gold corporation is a canadian mineral exploration company active in peru, one of the fastest growing mining areas in the world. our focus is on gold, silver and copper in three active projects: letra rumi south, culebrilla and alicia. our alicia project (copper-gold) is located in cusco department approximately 500 km southeast of lima, within the prolific andahuaylas-yauri porphyry copper and skarn belt, host to several world-class deposits including las bambas (900 million tonnes at 0.9% copper), haquira (686 million tonnes at 0.5% copper), los chancas (355 million tonnes at 0.6% copper) and tintaya (158 million tonnes at 1.2% copper and 0.16 g/t gold) among others. our letra rumi south (copper-gold) and culebrilla (gold-silver) projects are in ancash department about 325 km north of lima, the same area of north-central peru that hosts the pierina gold mine (barrick corporation) and the antamina base metals mine (bhp billiton, teckcominco, xstrata minerals and mitsubishi).
