in november 2006, straits asia was the first coal company to be listed in singapore. we said at that time that we would be focused exclusively on asia but in april 2008 our parent company, the australian-listed straits resources limited (srl), annouced that it would be distributing its total shareholding in straits asia to it's own shareholders. after this demerger, straits asia will remain focused on coal but will become fully independent and globally focused. the roots of straits asia stretch back to the 1970s when our founders, who included our ceo richard ong chui chat, began a marine construction, marine engineering and bunkering business based out of singapore. that business, now called indo straits, remains inside straits asia group and provides important support services for our mines. we own 2 producing mines, both in indonesia: sebuku mine on sebuku island in south east kalimantan, and jembayan mine near samarinda in east kalimantan. as part of the demerger from srl, we a
