stroop is opgericht in mei 2013 en is ontstaan vanuit een wild idee waar een stroopwafelijzer, leegstaand vastgoed en de (meer)waarde van een ontmoetingsplek de basisingrediënten voor zijn. het stroopwafelijzer biedt ons de mogelijkheid een bijzonder product aan te bieden, namelijk culinaire stroopwafels. dat zijn traditionele lekkernijen met een culinaire twist. door kennis, kunde maar met name experiment staan er iedere week andere stroopwafels op de kaart. het concept zetten we in om vastgoed op een nieuwe manier in de markt te zetten. in plaats van een bord met 'te huur' op de gevel, laten we de potentie van het lege pand zien door middel van (tijdelijk) gebruik, waarbij we lokale netwerken betrekken en hun participatie in het gebruik stimuleren. op dit moment is stroop gehuisvest in een pand aan de mathenesserweg 21b te rotterdam.
