those engaged by the company have experienced social exclusion and, in particular are current or former members of the mental health community. therefore, they have experienced the effects of stigma and discrimination.the company trains such people to turn what they have learnt about the mental health system, their recovery and their well being into a marketable commodity. they become trained peer support specialists or wrap® facilitators. wrap® (wellness recovery action planning®) is an international programme created by dr. mary ellen copeland to assist individuals in recovery from mental health and substance addiction challenges to monitor symptoms and create action plans, which are helpful for reducing the impact of, or eliminating altogether, crisis situations. peer support specialists assist other mental health users realise that they possess unique knowledge about the mental health system and can become voluntary, part- time or full- time paid peer support specialists. the essen
