student community action is the home of student volunteering at durham university! we’re here to respond to the needs of the local community, and to offer volunteering opportunities to our students. we are open to all students, get involved as a volunteer or help in the running of the organisation – both undergraduates and postgraduates, full time and part time are welcome! we’re proud to be a student-led, community-focused organisation. established in 1989, we aim to support the local community, and offer a unique volunteering experience to durham students. it’s easy to get involved, whether participating in a project as a volunteer or leader, standing for election to the exec, or representing sca volunteering in your college. overseen by a student executive committee working alongside permanent staff and based in the palatine centre, sca has long been at the centre of the durham student experience. we work within durham’s colleges, organising events and fundraising. our college am
