established in 1956, student services, inc. (ssi) is a pennsylvania not‐for‐profit corporation, approved as a 501(c)(3) organization under the internal revenue code. it is a legally separate entity and was formed to provide services to the university community that are not available through the state system of higher education. ssi currently: ● operates the university store; ● operates digital signage; ● provides vending services including laundry operations; ● operates the copy shop; ● provides technical services; ● provides bookkeeping services for student organizations; ● manages the student union building; ● manages the fitness center; ● provides ticket sales for campus activities and events; and ● provides check cashing services. ssi is operated by a professional staff including the chief executive officer and chief business officer and is also governed by a board of directors consisting of trustees, faculty, staff and students of the university.
